So in March 2014 I first met Rhiannon Davies and Trish Richardson at Arts Alive when they delivered a workshop about arts and dementia.
Was it then or before that that I began to see the potential value of working as an artist alongside people whose mental health was altering, a move away from the fragile veneer of social etiquette to a more chaotic form of communication, not unlike the one permitted me by my title ‘artist’.
If I am asked repeatedly ‘where are we going?’ it seems to have taken me a long time to realise the importance of the question. It is not just a random set of words although it seems at times irritating, but actually a question worth reflecting on .
Where are we going?
