
This is work begun before the pandemic but then thwarted by restrictions of lockdown and social distancing. Then the pandemic that unexpectedly developed it .
These are china clay hands holding one of the hundreds of herb bags made by the community of the valley where I live when we were isolated from the pain of the pandemic and its impact. We painted recycled fabric, stitched and stuffed the bags with lovely organic herbs and then gave them away to care workers.
Prevented from making the work with other people holding my hand, I placed one bag in the clay hands. Somehow it took the work somewhere new………..
